SocialSofa: The SocialSofa is a concrete bench with every time a unique mosaic image. This image is created in our very own SocialSofa Studio. People working on the benches are mostly people who have had some difficult life experiences and need some help to integrate into the labour market. Next to that, the SocialSofas are made by neighbours, colleagues, friends or just passers-by. It appears to be a process that brings together people in a very positive way, with an everlasting and personal result. However, not only the creation is a social activity. When a SocialSofa is completed, most of the times it is placed in a neighbourhood, so that people can come together for a chat. With many years of experience a lot of success stories have come by. With every SocialSofa a new place is created where people can meet in a spontaneous way. In every street of the Netherlands (and possibly the rest of the world) we would like to see a SocialSofa.
